C is for Cat on a Cup with a Canary

C is for Cat in a Cup with a Canary

Periodically I look at older pieces that I have created and get inspired to create a new version as you see above.

Below is the older version with a cat in a cup.

I liked this as well, but it is old habits to go back and create a new versions live on. Besides, I like cats and birds.

It"s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

 Tis the Season!

Always fun to add a few loved ones to an illustration when publishing one's own Christmas cards.

Fondness for Flowers

Kitchen Bouquets

I have to confess, I have a fondness for flowers.
They brighten up the day, room, or garden.

I had worked on a special project below for a friend to create an illustration for her sister's birthday which became an inspiration for the variation you see above.

I liked the bottle with the daisies that I decided to use it or rework it in the top illustration. Rework was a term the was used where I worked at American Greetings years ago where we would create new images out of older pieces of art. It would cut costs yet gave the ability to freshen up a line of cards. When artists started to work digitally, the magic of being able to move, change scale, layout, and color opened new doors in creating illustrations.

September Bouquet...Saying Goodbye to Summer

September Bouquet

Saying Goodbye to Summer

I am a fan of Summer with its warm weather, long sunlit days, and the flowers that fill my garden. September has come all too quickly and is speeding into October. So finally I am posting the one last illustration that I did at the end of this summer.

Here is a virtual look at my illustration that you can find on Fine Art America.

You can also find this illustration on other products in Fine Art America as well.

Capturing Flowers at Summer's End

 Mixed Flowers on Black

I have been slow to post new work this month, but here is one of my newest illustrations as I continue to hang on to what is left of summer.

The older I get, the more I appreciate flowers and the simple joy they bring. I never tire of illustrating them.

These flowers also bring a bit of flower drama to a coffee mug.

You can find this illustration as well as others on my Fine Art America link.
