Joy to the World!

Joy to the World!

I confess, I have been doodling in church today.
I was listening to the children's choir sing Christmas hymns and I must say it touched my heart.
To remember the birth of our Savior during Christmas and the ultimate gift he gave to all his fellow human beings brings JOY...JOY to the World!

Merry Christmas and God Bless us Everyone!

Tea Cup Wisdom

Tea Cup Wisdom

I've started collecting quotes here and there with the thought that some of them might inspire a design or two.

So here is a little wisdom on a tea cup I'd like to share
with all of  you.

Gods blessings to you all!

Watering Cans, Wrens, and Wild Berries make up this latest W.
It is filled with a Wealth of good Wishes for any W admirer.

Z is for Zebra!

Z is for Zebra!

I have been in the flow of ideas, but I have to confess a bit tired now.
When I started this project of illustrated letters some 4 years ago, I first started with the letter Z not knowing where it would take off. It seemed like a good idea to tackle Z again.

I shall name him Zack for a new Z come back.

The Letter V for Vase of Verious Flowers

The Letter V for Vase of Various Flowers

Here is a new addition to my Alphabet Soup of Illustrated Letters
with a new Version of the Letter V.

I kind of thought that the letter V would make a Very Vibrant Visual of a Vase.
Of course one will need Various Vibrant Flowers to fill it!

B is for Baby Bear

B is for Baby Bear

While doing shows this summer I kept getting requests for a baby design.

Here is a letter B for Baby Bear with a Bouncy Ball, Blocks and Bird Buddy. Hope this gets a good response in upcoming shows this September.

The Letter U for U Turn

U is for U Turn on Utopia Rd.

I have to say U is not an easy letter to inspire an Unusual idea. After doing Mr. U for the letter U, my mind drew a complete blank. But finally, finally, I thought of doing a road in a U shape.
So here is the new U unveiled.

T is for Tiger, Tea, & Toucan!

T is for Tiger, Tea & Toucan!

Yes, it is another T. Since I have been making alternatives to my original letters in my alphabet series, it was time to illustrate another T.

Meet Ted the Tiger who is giving a Tea with Tessa the Terrific Toucan.
By the way, Ted is standing on a Tile floor as he balances Two Teacups while Tessa holds a Tea bag over the Table with the steaming Teapot .

So here is Sweet Sally the Swan Swimming Silently.

The Letter P for Peas in a Pod

P is for Peas in a Pod

Here is a new P to add to my collection of illustrated letters.

P is not just for Peas in a Pod
but a Pink Papillon,
as the French would might call a butterfly,
on a yellow Paisley Paper.

I might add the ladybugs are Precious!

I do hope this is Perfect for some People!

E is for Evergreen & Elf

E is for Elf & Evergreen

Here is my new version adding an elusive elf with an envelope filled with an epistle
of everlasting love.
The bird's name is Edward.
The elf's name is Echo.

I had decided to do another version of my E for Evergreen. The original below had a red cardinal with red berries which looked rather seasonal.

I think I am liking this new version. I hope it pleases you as well.

O is for the Orange Octopus in the Ocean

O is for the Orange Octopus In the Ocean!

Since my last letter O really didn't have anything to do with the letter "O" except shape,
I thought to design another letter O.

This orange octopus in the ocean has just discovered the letter O! His name is Oliver.
The orange fish? Oh, yes, his name is Oscar.
O is such a nice round shape, even the bubbles are letter O's.

N is for Nessie

N is for Nessie

I have been puzzling over what to do for another letter N.
It has been difficult. I mean I had a brain freeze. I was looking through the dictionary to see if I could get any inspiration, but all I got was a headache. So then I just started making different letter N's. Upon doing a lowercase script N, I saw it. NESSIE! Phew! These are getting harder and harder to do!

Have a great weekend! Tomorrow I rest!

Thinking of those that have served to defend our freedoms as we start this weekend.

The Letter K for Knitting and Knitters

K is for Knitting and Knitters!

This is dedicated to all my knitter friends.

I use to knit as well as sew, but drawing and designing took over. I was always amazed at those that could knit a sweeter and have all their rows even. If you ever receive something knitted by a friend, treat it with care and reverence for it was made with love.

The Letter M for Mermaids

M is for Marvelous Mermaids

Finally another idea for the letter M.
My last approach with the letter M was M is for Mustache. Although fun, it seemed a bit limited as to my only M offering.

I thought of map, but I have done the map theme before with C is for Compass and G is for Globe, although I may do one yet in that as it could become a theme. Thought of mountains, morning glories, and marigolds as well, but mermaids won out.

Looking for Spring

Looking for Spring

The "polar vortex" has kept my yard pretty much covered in snow this winter. Usually there is a spring tease somewhere in February, but alas, this has not happened. The only relief from the winter doldrums is that the days are getting longer and we have had a few days of blue skies to accompany the sunshine.

Here is a little something to brighten up the last dregs of winter. I am keeping and eye out for my robin buddies.

Tea for Two

Tea for 2

I am done with winter.
I started this design in the middle of gray skies and snow. I kept wrestling with the color. Guess I needed to see some green.

Today the sun was out and the snow was melting and I was finally able to finish this design.
Yes, it is supposed to get cold again and I am sure there will be plenty more gray skies, but my thoughts are in Spring and warmer weather.

Make a Wish

Make a Wish

Well, I was going to design a daffodil, but I wound up with a dandelion.
I think I need a wish for Spring to be on its way.

Looking for Spring

Sweet Spring!

Yes, I am tired of the Polar Vortex!
Tired of snow!
Tired of freezing cold temperatures!
Tired of gray skies!
Tired of boots, gloves, and heavy overcoats!

I know the ground hog said six more weeks of winter, but my thoughts are flying toward SPRING!

The Letter I for Ibis & Ivy

I is for Ibis & Ivy

I wanted to do another letter I, but I words were not inspiring and I was at a loss.

There not many I words that are tangible things.
Okay, there is iguana and iris, but that is about it after ivy and ibis.

I had to look up what an ibis looked like. To my surprise the birds were not only white, but some are a marvelous RED

One was not enough. Of course once I added a second!  There had to be a little romance happening since Valentine's Day is two weeks away.

He IDOLIZES her!
Sigh!

So there we are, my IDEA for the letter I.

January Blahs

January

It has been very cold and snowy in Ohio during this month of January,
not to mention the endless gray skies!

Snow at Christmas is festive, but not in January when the reality of winter hits.
Heavy coats and boots weigh us down as we try to make our way out of the comfort of our homes.

The bright side is this: there is less than a week left of January and February is a short month!
The days are getting longer!

Both January and February are those months of recuperation, collecting our thoughts, and cleaning out closets of unwanted stuff. It is the preparation for Spring!

Maybe January is a necessity.

The Letter H - H is for Hose and Hare if You Dare

H is for Hose and Hare if You Dare

Okay, it is January and we are having record freezing temperatures here. Brrrrr just doesn't describe it. So rather than bemoan the cold, I tried to think of warmer thoughts. So here is a new letter H for my illustrated alphabet series. Don't ask me how I came up with hose in this weather, but the days are getting longer and I have spring on my mind.
